TRAMS AT THE GARDENS
Sir, —May I ask the Transport Department the reason for changing their turning point back to the city at the Gardens? I am sure a good many of the public down that way agree with me that they have made it into a “ scuttle alley" for some of Dunedin’s speedsters. Perhaps the other turn round was a hazard to the motor traffic, but the way it is now you have to chase a tram halfway up Pine Hill terrace and then miss it.—l am, etc.. S. D. M. [“ This change has been made in preparation for the running of the GardensNormanby trolley buses,” said the manager of the Transport Department, Mr J. A. Todd, when this letter was referred to him. It was decided to do the work a little earlier than was necessary to avoid congestion at the Gardens. —Ed. ODT.]
