TENNIS CHAMPION
Plans To Compete At Wimbledon PA AUCKLAND, Dec. 11. The New Zealand women’s lawn tennis champion of 1947, Miss E. G. Attwood, of Auckland, is a likely competitor in next year’s All-England championships at Wimbledon. She plans to leave Auckland for England in April, and will compete in several tournaments in England before Wimbledon. Miss Attwood’s plans are not completed, but she also intends to visit Helsinki for the Olympic Games festival of 1952, and she may be away from New Zealand for several years. Her last important tournament in New Zealand before her departure will be the national championships in Auckland early in February.
