CAR HITS POLE
Three Women Injured ACCIDENT NEAR SOUTHERN CEMETERY When the car in which they were travelling near the Southern Cemetery early on Saturday morning failed to negotiate a bend, three women suffered injuries which necessitated their admission to the Dunedin Public Hospital. They were Miss Sheila Mary Keefe, the driver of the car, of 2 Warrender street, who suffered a fractured left leg; Miss Elizabeth Simpson, a nursing sister, of Albany street, who fractured her right leg and suffered shock; and Miss Kathleen Richardson, of Albany street, who suffered shock. Their condition last night was reported to be satisfactory. All three were still in hospital. The accident occurred when the car hit a steel pole. The car was extensively damaged.
