PHILATELIC CLUB

Roll Of Honour Inspected Mrs A. C. Laing presided over the monthly meeting of the Dunedin Philatelic Club held In the View Street Hall on Thursday night. The guest of honour for the evening was Mr t. Walker, secretary of the Philatelic Congress of Great Britain, who is visiting this country as custodian of the Philatelic Roll of Honour, which was displayed at the Canterbury Centennial Stamp Exhibition last month. Instituted in 1920 by the Philatelic Congress of Great Britain, the Roll of Honour has been signed by famous stamp collectors throughout the world, and contains the names of three New Zealanders —Messrs A T. Bate, R G. J. Collins and Sir R. Heaton Rhodes. The first signatory was King George V, whose name takes the place of honour at the head of the roll. Mr Walker, in displaying the roll, said that since 1920 it had only been shown to six or seven Philatelic societies throughout the world.
