Dr R. L. Greenwood, formerly of Kidderminster, England, has arrived in Dunedin to take up his new duties as assistant in the chest services department of the Otago Hospital Board. Dr Greenwood has previously held positions with the State Medical Service in England, and has also worked in Canada and South Africa.

Dr R. Wilson, the newly-appointed director of the tuberculosis department of the Otago Hospital Board, is expected to arrive in Dunedin from England about the middle of next month. Impending changes in the Government Life Insurance Office have been announced. Mr H. L. Ryan is to retire from the position of Government Insurance Commissioner on December 31, and Mr W. K. Watson is appointed in his place. Mr Watson’s position, deputy commissioner and secretary, is being filled by the appointment of Mr W. H. Tebbs, at present district manager, Christchurch. Mr George Robertson, at present chief clerk in head office, takes over the position of supervisor of new business from Mr C. B. Ferguson, who also retires at the end of the year.
