MARKETS FOR LAMB
Report Made To Meat Board NORTH AMERICAN DEMAND Special Correspondent WELLINGTON, Dec. 8. There is possibly a long-term market in North America for New Zealand lamb, the first shipments of which are scheduled to reach America in February. March and April next. This opinion ia given by the London manager of the »%Vy/ Zealand Meat Producer;;’ Hoard, Mr H. A, Chisholm, in a report made to the board on the marketing of New Zealand rn-sai in North America.

To achieve orderly marketing it wiil he desirable to use tha consignment method v/hteh allows the use of selective agencies and in turn the use of distributive channels which will avoid New Zealand goods being peddled by brokers. The Meat Board has considered tha report and made certain recommendations to the Government on procedure and has received the Government’s approval to proceed. The board hat profited by the experience of Australia in its initial attempt to disposa of meat to the North American conti* nent.
