Outstanding Promise Of Young Cricketer
Norman Woods, a 14-year-old Technics 1 College player and a pupil of Mr B. Sutcliffe, the Otago Cricket Association coach, has accomplished some outstanding performances for Kaikorai in Boys’ Association matches. A left-hand medium-paced trundier, he bowls both the in-swinger and the outswinger and varies his pace cleverly. His figures are impressive:—v Csrisbrook, four for 7, and two for 17; v High School Old Boys, six for 44; v Kaikorai B, six for 19 and four for 11. His highest score in batting was 68 versus Old Boys, including 13 4’s and two 6’s.
