Enterprising Women Athletes
The Otago Ladies’ Amateur Athletic Club is at present conducting a queen carnival. The three queens—Misses I. Donald, D. George and M. Ives—have energetic committees working for them, and it is hoped to raise a considerable amount to augment the club’s funds. The president, Mrs K. Bradshaw, has several novel ideas, and one that will be put into effect is a mock court. It will be held at the Caledonian Ground after one of the Saturday afternoon meetings in the near future. It is understood that many prominent athletic competitors and officials will receive their “ blueys ” to appear before the presiding authority.
