MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS
Citizens’ Association Opens Campaign The first shots in the municipal election campaign were fired last night when four Citizens’ Association candidates representing aspirants to election to the mayoralty, the City Council, the Otago Hospital Board and the Otago Harbour Board addressed electors at the Coronation Hall, Maori Hill. There were about 50 people present at a meeting which gave the speakers an attentive hearing, and very few questions were asked at the conclusion of the candidates’' remarks. The speakers were Cr L. M. Wright, the candidate for the mayoralty, Cr T. K. S. Sidjey, again seeking re-election to the council, Dr J. H. Fulton, a candidate for re-election to the Hospital Board, and Mr H. C. Carter, also seeking a further term on the Harbour Board. The chair was occupied by Mr J. M. Patrick.
