Dairy Produce And Meat NZPA Special Correspondent Bee. 8.20 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 17. An intelligence bulletin of the Commonwealth Economic Committee states that during the first eight months of this year imports of butter into the United Kingdom were 7 per cent, higher than in the same period of 1949. They were still 22 per cent, below the level of 1938. Imports of cheese during the first eight months of this year were 36 per cent, less than in the corresponding period of 1949. They were, however, well above the level of 1938. During the same period of this year the total imports of meat were 41 per cent, greater than the same period of last year and 9 per cent, less than in 1938.
