CENTRAL BUILDINGS
Needs Of Government Departments
PA WELLINGTON, Oct. 17. The Government was fully cognisant of the need for Government buildings not only in the main centres but also in many of the larger towns, said the Minister of Works, Mr Goosman. in the House of Representatives today. He was replying to Mr F. Jones (Oppn., St. Kilda), who had said that one main Government building in each centre could eliminate some of the unsatisfactory conditions under which public servants had to work through being scattered all over the place. “ We are just starving for Government buildings, and if we do not make up our mind to build them now, we never will,” said the Minister, adding that the Government was examining the position of building accommodation for Government departments.
