SHORTAGE OF PUPIL NURSES
Auckland Hospital Board’s Quandary
PA AUCKLAND, Oct. 2. The Auckland Hospital Board is concerned at the marked decrease shown in the intake of pupil nurses for training at its institutions during the current year and at the smallness of the numbers offering for training in 1951. It was decided tonight to advise the Minister of Health, Mr Watts, the Director-general of Health, Dr J. Cairney, and the Hospital Boards’ Association of New Zealand that the national advertising campaign has failed in its objective mainly through the infrequency of its advertising in this area.
