Outstanding Effort By Tarras
Last year Tarras, Central Otago, was justifiably proud of its achievement in buying health stamps to the value of £l2O on the first day of the campaign, although the number of householders is only 80. This helped to swell the figures for the Cromwell postal district to £302, its quota being £IOO. Yesterday the post office at Tarras must have been besieged by local people anxious to assist in the best of causes, because in the first hour the sales had amounted to £l7O. The campaign target is 3s 9d a household, but Tarras already has an average of over £2.
