Dr Stuart Moore has returned from a holiday in Timaru. Constable J. W. Thompson, of Mosgiel, will leave today to attend the New Zealand Police Association's annual conference at Wellington, beginning tomorrow. He is an Otago delegate to the conference. The new town clerk, Mr J. C. Lucas, who took up his official duties yesterday, has been appointed treasurer of the Otago Development Council in succession to Mr R, A. Johnston.
The new deputy town clerk’s post, to which Mr F. R. Grindley was appointed, has now also come officially into existence. Mr J. Y. Hannay, of the Invercargill branch of the Bank of New Zealand, has been appointed manager of the Queenstown branch to succeed Mr R. J. Fuller, who is retiring. Mr Hannay will take up his appointment early next year.
