HOUSING BLOCK
Effect Of New Road A part of the land through which the new road is planned to pass above Hastie’s farm at Pine Hill has been taken over by the Department of Housing Construction for housing purposes. If the new highway project is sanctioned by the Main Highways Board arid the work proceeds, it is likely that the declaration of the road as a modern motorway will preclude the building of State houses on this land. Among the reasons for this is to stop ribbon housing development along the highway so as to keep the built-up area to a minimum.
