ACTING POST
Deputy City Engineer Mr George K. Armstrong, D. 5.0., M.C., was appointed by the City Council last night to the position of acting city engineer at the same salary as
the city engineer, Mr S. G. Scoular—£ls7o a year, plus Arbitration Court orders. 11113 salary is to be paid from July 1 and during the period he will occupy this position. Mr Scoular i* on sick leave.
The council also appointed two committee clerks at salaries of £635 a year, and a records clerk at a salary of £475 a year. These appointments will take effect on October 1. An engineer’s assistant was appointed at a salary of £460 a year.
