Mosgiel Magistrate’s Court

Motorists were fined for various traffic breaches when they appeared before Mr J G. Warrington, S.M., in the Mosgiel Magistrate’s Court yesterday morning. Archibald William Gregory was fined £3 and costs (12s) on a charge of driving without due care and attention. On a charge of exceeding the speed limit for a heavy vehicle Robert Herbert Arnott was fined £2, with costs (10s). Alexander Malcolm Miles, Colin Leslie Joyce and Howard Thomson were each fined 30s, with costs (10s) for parking in prohibited areas. , „„ Allan William Berland was fined £2. with costs (10s) for exceeding the speed limit. . „ Archie Finlayson Sutherland was fined £3, with costs U2s) on a charge of driving without due care and attention. Clarence James Belsey was fined 10s, with costs (10s) for not having a warrant of fitness. Phillip' Herbert Winter was fined £l, with costs (10s) for operating a goodsservice outside his licensed area. Frederick Logie Olsen was fined £3, with costs (10s) on a charge of driving at an excessive speed. Bernard John Riley was fined £1 on each of three charges. They were riding a motor cycle without lights, having no warrant of fitness, and failing to produce his driver’s licence when required. A charge of exceeding the speed limit against Allan Serrail Scandrett was dismissed after evidence had been heard. He was represented by Mr R. J. Gilbert and pleaded not guilty.
