LONDON WOOL SALES
The Bank of New Zealand produce department has received a cable message from its London office, under the date September 22. The message reads:— The extreme prices paid for greasy crossbred, which was in short supply, have not been maintained today, despite a very strong market. Current quotations for wools of average condition (prices are given in sterling, without deduction of any sort for freight, expenses, etc.) are:— Merinos: Ordinary, 60/64’s, llOd to 120 d. Halfbred: 56/58’s. 105 dto llOd; 50/56’s, IOOd to 105 d. Crossbred: 48/50's, 97d to 99d; 46/48’s, 97d to 99d; 44/46’s, 97d to 99d; 40/44's, 95d to 97d. The following range of saleroom prices for New Zealand greasy wool is quoted (prices are given in sterling, without deduction of any sort for freight, expenses, Fine halfbred: 58-56/58’s—good, llOd to 120 d; average, 104 d to 109 d. Halfbred: 50-56's-56—good, 105 d to UOd; average, IOOd to 104 d. Fine crossbred: 50-48’s/50’s—-good, IOOd to 105 d; average, 95d to 98d. Medium crossbred: 46’s-4C/48’s —good, 98d to 103 d; 48’s—average, 94d to 97d. Crossbred lambs: Good, 85d to 89d; average, 80d to 84d. First crossbred pieces: Good, Bfd to 86d; average, 77d to 80d. Crossbred bellies: Good, 70d to 75d. Crutchings: 44/48’s—good, 83d to 86d. Crutchings, lambs’. 46/50’s —good, 75d to 78d.
