Win For New Zealand BRILLIANT PLAY BY HAIG PA AUCKLAND, Aug. 13. New Zealand thoroughly deserved its win by 20 points to 13 in the second Rugby League test yesterday against England. Although England's back 3 were a superior set, they met with stubborn defence. The New Zealand forwards, playing with great dash, paved the way for the home team'* victory. New Zealand has thus won the two tests played, having defeated England by 16 to 10 at Christchurch a fortnight ago. The star of the New Zealand sid! was undoubtedly J. Haig, the scrumhalf. He made many clever openings and started the movements which led to New Zealand’s tries. Among New Zealand’s forwards, T. Hardwick, J. Newton, C. Hurndell and C. Mcßrid! were always in 'the picture in both tight and loose. New Zealand led by 10 points to S at half time, and in the second half concentrated on turning play back to the forwards. England’s last toy wai scored with only 12 men on the field, Danby having been assisted off the field. For the home team, tries were scored by Haig (2). Hough and Robertson. Haig and Davidson each converted one try and White kicked two goals from penalties. For England, Ward, Ryan and Featherstone scored, Ward converting two.
