BIG GAIN IN DECADE
Population Of America WASHINGTON, Rec. 7 p.m. July 23. The Census Bureau has tentatively placed the population of continental United States at 150,520,198— nearly 19,000,000 more than the total for 1940. The bureau said the population gain in 10 years had exceeded that for any decade in the history of the country. The bureau’s figures were based on a census taken last spring.
