Return to England
Old Folks’ First President The founder and first president of the Otago Beneficiaries and Old Folks’ Association, Mrs G.'Page, left Dunedin yesterday on the first stage of her journey back to England, the land of her birth. The association was formed about eight years ago, and Mrs Page was the person who brought it into being. Mrs Page has been in Dunedin since her arrival in New Zealand 24 years ago. Her husband died last year, and as she has some married children in England and other relatives, she decided to spend her remaining days there. Two daughters who lived with her in Dunedin also accompanied Mrs Page on her long journey to Letchworth, Hertfordshire. Prior to her departure Mrs Page was the recipient of an inscribed handbag and a parchment testimonial in Old English from her contemporaries on.the association.
