TAEJON FALLS
Rec. 1.20 a.m. TOKIO, July 20. The American withdrawal from Taejon was completed today when the Thirty-fourth Regiment left the city after daylong grim fighting, reports Reuter’s correspondent: American fighter pilots who returned to an advanced air base in Korea this afternoon reported that the “ centre, of the city was burning like hell.” The South Koreans earlier today were forced to withdraw from Yongdok, 60 miles north of Fusan, on the east coast of Korea.
