Estate Of James Niven

PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

The will of James Niven, a retired school teacher of Dunedin, provides for several public bequests. The estate was sworn at under £15,000. The bequests are:— Freehold property, 34 Begg street, St. Kilda, to the Deacon’s Court of the Musselburgh Presbyterian Church, for church purposes. £IOOO to Deacon’s Court, Musselburgh Prebyterian Church, for building fund £IOOO to Presbyterian Social Service Association, for social work. £IOOO to Dunedin Young Men’s Christian Association. £IOOO to Centennial Memorial Fund of the Presbyterian Church of Otago and Southland.

The following bequests were made in the will of Elizabeth Fisher, widow, late of Waikouaiti:— £2OO to the New Zealand Red Cross Society, Dunedin, for general purposes. £2OO to the Dunedin RSA, for “assistance of returned members of the Air Force, Navy, Naval Reserve and Meroantile Marine who have served outside New Zealand.” £2OO to Methodist Central Mission, for rest home, Company’s Bay.
