A year’s leave of absence in 1917 to go to India and New Zealand turned into a lifetime stay in the latter country for Professor Ann Gilchrist Strong, retired dean of the Home Science Department of the University of Otago. Professor Strong is now visiting a niece in Miami She arrived in the United States last August “ for one last tling.”
She has been visiting relatives throughout the country and friends at tehools and univers.ties where she once taugnt. Professor Strong in 1917 was dean of the Home Economics School at Cincinnati when she received an offer to establish a similar school in Boroda, India. Then she went to Dunedin to help develop the Home Science School, and has remained there ever since, except for a few visits to the United States. Prof' ssor Strong will leave Vancouver next month for New Zealand.
