RUNNING REVIEWED

First Leg Of Double High Quest was left at the start of the Empire Handicao and Faites Vos Jeux began slowly, Philip Laing leading out from Faustina, Balmoral, Gold King, and Winning Gem. There was no change in the order running past the four, but Faites vos Jeux put in a fast run coming across the bend and King Gundi was also becoming prominent. Philip Laing shaded' Faustina into the straight, with Faites vos Jeux, Gold King, Winning Gem. and King Gundi also in the call. The three leaders dropped out and Gold King drew away for a three-length win from Winning Gem, who was clear of King Gundi. After the dividend-payers came Extra Flight, Musselman. Dark Chief, and Sir Abbott. FIELD OUTCLASSED

When the fi-fid for the second leg of the double, the King George Handicap, settled down Great Bid and Duvaals were leading, followed by Super Flight. Detention, Western Front, Indiana. Orthodox, and Nullah Duvaals had dropned back a nlace or two at the far turn, where Great Bid was followed by Sime" Fliffht. Detention, Western Front and Duvaals togethen Defendant, and Orthodox. Prince Defaulter and Conclusion made up leeway on the bend, but Super Flight was first into the straight from Great Bid. Detention, Western Front, and Orthodox. De tention gave nothing else a chance in the Tun to the judge and won by an official margin of five leigths from Orthodox. Conclusion came home particularly well to beat Super Flight for third, and then came Western Front. Punce Defaulter, Jimmy the One, Great Bid, and Nullah. Orthodox was lame after the race. MIRO CHABO AT LAST

As usual. Miro Chabo went out very fast in the Dunedin Steeplechase, in which Nor-Wester did not survive the second leg of the double brush. Miro Chabo was nut bv himself coming through the straigt "the first time and he was followed over the stand double by San Quentin. Periwig, Kassai, Roman Son, Stylus, and Siglow. On Broadway had a life at the sod wall running out of the straight, and the leaders into the back were Miro Chabo, Kassai, Stylus, and Roman Som • Kassai was gathering Miro Chabo in at the first of the double brush but fell at the second when annealing to have the race in safe keeping, and this left Miro Chabo well clear of Stylus, with the order after that Siglow, Roman Son, Periwig and On Broadway. Miro Chabo was followed over the water jump bv On Broadway and Roman Son, and that is how they finished. Stylus. Siglow, Periwig, Eleanor Star, and Irish Pal were next to finish. STRAGGLING START About half the field for the Domain Handicap lost their chances at barfierrise, the start being a poor one. and several of the riders apparently being under tha impression that it was a false start. Great Victory shot away wlfh a break of about six lengths, and with three furlongs covered those nearest to . him in a badly strung-out field were Night Ruler, Social News, Open Range, Gay Prince and Vain Lad Great Victory was clear into th» straight from Night Ruler and Social News, but he was weakening and Night Ruler came through for an easy win from Social News, who shaded Gay Prince. The next to finish were Great Victory, Open Range, Vain Lad and Subtraction. CONSISTENT RECORD Mandeville added to his consistent record at the meeting by winning the Greenfield Hurdles, making his record for the meeting a win and two third placings. Relampago showed a lot of speed on the fiat, but he struck a couple of hurdles hard and he was done with before the straight was reached. Bridgehead, Relampago. Money Bird Bon Chale and Brockie were the early leaders, with Theocritus last. Relampggo shaded Bridgehead turning into the back and they ware followed by Bon Chale and Mandeville. with Theocritus moving up to Brockie. Mandeville and Brockie were first over the second last jump from Relampago, Bridgehead, Theocritus, Bon Chale and Robin Gay. Brockie showed the way into the straight to Mandeville. and these two drew well clear of the field in the run home, Mandeville gathering Brockie in to w.in by three lengths. Theocritus was a dozen lengths away and Bon Chale was fourth, ahead of Bridgehead, Robingay and Relampago. LED THROUGHOUT Exchange and What Next got out well in the Tainui Handicap and were the leaders practically throughout. Highthorne, Flying Trixie and Oscillate lost ground at the start and What Next, Silver Clipper and Exchange led out from Penze, Lilli Marlene and Lady Hotspur. There was little between What Next and Exchange running past the four and they were followed into the straight by Silver Clipper and Penze, with Vain Lad and Flying Trixie making up ground. In the run to the judge, Exchange came right away for a decisive win from What Next, who held on for second from the fastfinishing Vain Lad. Penze was fourth, and was followed in by Friar Phillip, Flying Trixie and Lilli Marlene. ' TWO-YEAR-OLD SUCCEEDS The field for the Electric Stakes left to a straggling start, the Chances of a number of the runners being hopeless from barrier rise. Navourneen, whose jockey had dismounted, took no part in the race. Gold Mine, Sally 0.. Concealment. and Master Galloway led a strungout field at the end of a furlong, and with three furlongs to run Sally O. and Gold Mine were showing the way to Concealment, who was under a nice hold, and Humdinger, Nadir Shah, and Pyramus were coming into the picture. Into the straight it was still Sally O. and Gold Mine from Concealment, with Pyramus moving up to fourth. At the distance post Concealment came through to challenge Gold Mine, who had shaken Sally O. off, and the two-year-old won by half a length. Pyramus was four lengths away, ahead of Sally 0., Humdinger, Nadir Shah, and Lucky Lynn. WELL-TIMED RUN A field of 20 staying hacks went to the post for the Aldworth Handicap, and Finance came with a well-timed run to get the decision from Dinnyhazer. Home Circle and Zarcon were last to leave, and the first to show out were Finance, Fille d’Honneur, Chasemint, Dinnyhazer, Show Boy, Cogitation, and Winger. Penny Pie put in a fast run to take over the running past the six. with Fille d’Honneur, Chasemint, Dinnyhazer, Finance, and Cogitation next Dinnyhazer moved up to Penny Pie coming to the bend, where Winger was becoming more prominent. Roving Robin was showing up on the home turn, where the field was closing up behind Dinnyhazer, Penny Pie, and Winger. A fine race home required photos to decide all the placings, and Finance, who came through on the rails, just headed Dinnyhazer and Winger beat Chasemint nar lowly for third. The next to finish were Reprimand. Roving Robin, All Hurry, and Cogitation.
