Senate-House Agreement

NZPA—Copyright ’ WASHINGTON, Rec. 7 p.m. May 15. The Senate-House Committee today agreed on the 3,121,450,000 dollars foreign aid programme for the next financial year. The Bill includes 2,850,000,000 dollars for the third year of the Marshall Plan. The committee decided on a compromise of 35,000,000 dollars for President Truman’s Point Four programme. This was 10,000,000 dollars more than the House had recommended, but 10,000,000 dollars lesfe than the amount requested by President Truman and the Senate. The overall total agreed on today was only-1,000,000 dollars less than the House figure. Congress has yet to appropriate the funds.
