Lecturer's Recent Form

Likes Heavy Going

The Siegfried gelding Alsvider came right back to form with two runaway wins at the Riverton Easter meeting, his winning margin on the first occasion being eight lengths and on the second five lengths He revelled in the heavy going, and he may find conditions to suit him at Wingatui next month, one of his engagements being in the Gloucester Cup. Dunedin Nominations The nominations for ' the three-day meeting of the Dunedin Jockey Club form a particularly pleasing list, and the indications are that large fields will go to the post for all the events. The fields for the jumping'races have filled exceptionally well, 'the Dunedin Steeplechase on the third day having drawn no fewer than 41 nominations. The keenness of owners and trainers to win the Duke of Gluocester Cup, a race confined to amateur riders, is shown by a nomination of 41 horses. In cases where fields exceed the safety limit, races will be run in divisions. Handicaps for the first day will be declared on Monday.
