WAR PENSIONS
RSA To Seek Review Of Present Rates Immediate action in regard to war pensions is being taken, by RSA headquarters. Advice to this effect was received by the executive of the Dunedin RSA last night in response to a telegram asking that representations be made to the Government seeking a review of war pensions in the light of the recent removal of subsidies and consequent rise in the cost of living The president, Mr K. W. Stewart, advised that the opportunity had been taken during the recent visit of the Minister of Defence, Mr Macdonald, to have informal discussions, and to make suggestions, in regard to pensions and other . matters. An assurance had been given by the Minister that information which had been sought would be made available. It was decided to advise the New Zealand RSA of the suggestions whicn had been made.
