Hazsoult In Form For Events At Ellerslie
Hazsoult had his second win of the season across country when he won the Frankton Steeplechase easily at the Waikato Racing Club’s meeting on Saturday, his previous win having been scored in the beaufcrt Steeples at the Grand National meeting in August. He has also been placed in four of his eight races.
.In the Grand National Steeples he was fourth to Flying Attack, Master Meruit, and Page’s Raid, and in his next race, the Lincoln Steeples, he finished third to Page’s Raid and Flying Attack. With the top-weight of 10.10, he was a close fourth to Abaris, Valconia, and Master Isaacs in the Maramarua Steeples at the Ohinemuri meeting in September. Hazsoult signalled his win on Saturday by finishing second to Savile Row in the Autumn Steeples, of three miles, at Ellerslie last month. The winner had a pull of 41b over him. A nine-year-old son of Hazrat, Hazsoult is from Soultrian, a Valkyrian mare from Lady Floss, by Soult from Minola Bianca, by Cyrenian from Ninola, by Cuirassier. His performances in the big jumping events at Ellerslie next month will be followed with interest.
