Mr A. F. O. Clarke, former deputy registrar' of the Dunedin Supreme Court, left the city yesterday for Invercargill to take up a similar position in both the Supreme Court and Magistrate’s Court there. . „ Mr M R. Aldridge, chief postmaster at Dunedin, will retire from the Post and Telegraph Department on June 30 He joined the department at Auckland in May, 1910. and came to Dunedin in 1948 to succeed Mr J. PHanratty as chief postmaster. The name of his successor has not yet been announced. . , , Advice has been received by the Otago Rugby Football Union Management Committee that Mr J. W. Stead of Invercargill, vice-captain of the 1905 All Blacks on their tour of Great Britain, had signified his intention of being present at the first test match between New Zealand and the British Isles team at Carisbrook on May 27.
