TWO TELEPRINTERS
Approaching Matches At Carisbrook FOR OVERSEAS NEWSPAPERS Two teleprinters will be installed in the Rose Pavilion at Carisbrook for the Rugby matches between Otago and the British Isles team on Saturday and for the test match on the following Saturday. For past international sports fixtures, the Post and Telegraph Department has provided only one teleprinter circuit, but it is expected that the volume of news matter on the approaching games will warrant the use of two machines. The teleprinters will be for overseas despatches only. The “ copy ” handed to the operators by the reporters covering the games for overseas newspapers will be sent direct from Carisbrook to Wellington, and thence to their destinations. Reports for newspapers throughout New Zealand will be cleared through the Dunedin telegraph office in the usual way.
