Discontinuance Opposed SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHERS Special Correspondent WELLINGTON. May 14. The Government’s decision to do away with the magaine Education was strongly opposed by the Technical School teachers at their conference, which ended at the week-end. The principal of the Wellington Technical College, Mr R. G. Ridling, said the magaine was a mark of proficiency of the New Zealand teaching profession and should not be lost. Mr J. V. Burton, of Dunedin, described the discontinuance as deplorable. “This is just one of the cuts we may have to face.” he said. “It is a retrograde step in educational activities.” The conference earlier carried a resolution thanking the Education Department for its bulletins and other printed matter and urging their continuance.
