NEW ZEALAND FILLY
Rec 7 p.m. SYDNEY, May 14. Putoko, owned by the New Zealander, Mr W. McA. Duncan, had no trouble in winning the Two-year-old Novice Handicap at Randwick. The filly was having her third race after arriving from New Zealand. Her previous form was indicated by the fact that she started favourite at 6to 4. She got to the front with 100 yards to go, and was running away at the finish. The result was:— Putoko, 8.6 (Sellwood) .. .. 1 Happy Mav, 8.9 (Moon) .. .. 2 Joy Star, 8.0 (Mullane) .. .. 3 Eleven started. Two lengths and ahalf; half a length. Time, lmin 14£sec.
