BACK COUNTRY HUTS
Misuse By Deerstalkers Alleged PA INVERCARGILL, May 12. The widespead abuse of property in the back country by stalkers and others is causing great concern to the New Zealand Deer Stalkers’ Association. The secretary of the association, Mr Arthur Hamilton, said today that many complaints had been received from run-holders about the illegal use of their back country huts. The position had become so serious that there was the danger of good hunting country—country that had been available for many years—being closed to all stalkers, including the genuine stalker, who had a keen sense of responsibility. His association was seeking closer co-operation with run-holders in, an effort to check this trend, Mr Hamilton said.
