Gloster Meteor Sets New Record
NZTA— top., right LONDON. May 12. A British Gloster Meteor twin jet fighter today set up a new 1000-kilo-metres closed-circuit record of 510.925 miles an hour. The record was held by a United States Lockheed jet fighter, which recorded approximately 460 miles an hour.
