MR POISON IMPRESSED

Australian Immigration Policy s NZPA—Copyright BRISBANE, May 11. ’ The Leader-elect of the New Zealand Legislative Council. Mr W. J. Poison, who is touring Queensland, said that he was greatly impressed by the Australian immigration policy. He is gathering as much information as possible about migration procedure in Australia, and. he hopes that he can put such knowledge to good use in New Zealand. Mr Poison commented: “Australia’s policy of bringing so many good-class migrants has had, and will continue to have, good results. I have studied migrants in Victoria. New South Wales, and Queensland, and I feel sure that nearly all will make useful Australian citizens.” _ Mr Poison added that the New Zealand Government was well aware that European migrants could help to develop the country, but the Dominion was not eager for mass migration until the housing problem eased.
