Sydney And Melbourne Wool Sales
NZPA—Copyright SYDNEY, May 10. Competition was strong from the Continent and Britain at the Svdney wool sale today. Of 8996 bales of ordinary wool, 8862, plus 130 from previous catalogues, were sold, and 3194
bales of skin wools were also sold. The market was vigorous, with rates 5 per cent, higher than yesterday for most merinos, excepting very burry and carbonising lots, which remained firm at previous rates. The top price was 127£d for 110 bales of greasy merino flee’ce spinners. There was an exceptionally keen tone at the Melbourne wool sale today, when there was a total clearance
of the 7700 bales offered. Values showed practically no change from those ruling yesterday.
