AIR SERVICE TO FIJI
Transfer Of Ownership Likely PA WELLINGTON, May 10. It was contemplated that the flyingboat service from Auckland to Suva, at present operated by the National Airways Corporation, would be taken over by Tasman Empire Airways and operated with Solents as from the beginning of June. Announcing this, the Minister in Charge of Civil Aviation, Mr Goosman, said this transfer of services would result in substantial economy. It would provide greater revenue for TEAL and at the same time would avoid the necessity of NAC operating a flying-boat service as an “ orphan ” unit, said the Minister.
