PA CHRISTCHURCH, May 10. The- sound feed situation throughout the province is maintaining a very, good demand for store sheep of all classes, and at Addington today the sale was keen and prices were a little higher than last week The entry of stores was 5504, against 8524 last week. Store lambs were Is to Is Gd dearer; ewe lambs made to 525; wether lambs, to 48s; good lambs, 33s to 395; medium. 29s to 32s 6d; and culls, down to 245. A small two-tooth offering was cleared at prices up to 555. One pen of four and six-tooth crossbred ewes made 56s 6d. Best aged ewes made to 47s Gd; good e\ves, 33s to 40s; and others down to 21s. Best wethers made up to 595. The fat lamb sale was even better than recent good sales. Values were up by 2s to 3s, and in some cases even more. The yarding totalled 2498. Values: Extra prime, 60s Id to 70s 7d; prime, 52s 7d to 59s 7d; good, 45s 7d to 51s 7d; medium and light, 36s 7d to 44s 7d. There was also strong competition in the fat sheep section, where ewes were up to 3s dearer and b;st light wethers up by Is. The entry was about 4000, of mainly high, quality. Values; Extra prime heavy wethers, to 78s 7d; prime heavy, 57s to 665; prime medium-weight, 46s to 565; ordinary and light, 33s to 455. Extra prime ewes, to 52s 7d; prime, 42s Gd to 47s 6d; prime meduim-weight, 35s to 425; ordinary and light, 25s to 335. There were 671 head in the fat cattle sale, in which best beef was firm to slightly easier. Plain cows were hard to sell. Best beef made to 80s per 1001 b; good. 52s 6d to 62s 6d; medium, 45s to 50s. Best cow, to 52s 6d; secondary, 34s Gd to 38s. Values: Extra prime heavy steers, to £34 17s Gd; prime heavy, £24 to £2B; prime medium-weight, £lB to £23; ordinary and light, £l4 to £l7. Extra prime heifers, to £26 2s 6d; prime, £l2 to £l9; ordinary and light. £7 to £ll 10s. Extra prime cows, to £22 7s 6d; prime, £lO to £l4; ordinary and plain, £6 to £9.

Better quality pork was 4s to 5s dearer than last week. Choppers were dearer by up to £1 a head. Values: Light porkers, £3 14s Gd to £4 7s Gd; medium. £4 9s 6d to £5 4s 6d; heavy, £5 12s 6d to £6 2s Gd; average price per lb, lid to 15d. Choppers, £6 11s to £9 8s Gd. Light baconers, £6 2s Gd to £6 14s Gd; medium, £6 19s Gd to £7 14s 6d; heavy, £7 15s 6d to £8 Is 6d; extra heavy, £8 7s 6d to £9 3s Gd. Average price per lb, 10£d to Hid.
