Australian Population Increases
Rec. 7.50 p.m. SYDNEY, May 9. Australia gained nearly .three times as many people from migration in 1949 as she did in 1948. After people who had left the country permanently were accounted for, the gain from migration was 150,000 in 1949 as against 55,115 the previous year. A natural population > increase added another 106.000 to the Australian population.
