Anti-Communist Bill GOVERNMENT’S WISH NZP A—Copyright Rec. 11 p.m. CANBERRA, May 9. The Government was prepared to examine all Labour’s proposed amendments to the anti-Communist legislation, but it wanted tjie Bill through the House of Representatives in a fortnight, said the Prime Minister, Mr Menzies, today. He reiterated that he regarded the clause placing the onus of proof upon a declared person to establish his innocence as a vital principle of the Bill. Mr Menzies said the Government would prefer to pass the Bill through the House of Representatives by arrangement with the Opposition Leader, Mr Chifley, but if such an arrangement was not obtainable, the Government was prepared to use the guillotine to limit the debate.
