NEW HEALTH STAMPS
Royal Mother And Infant Depicted
ON SALE IN OCTOBER WELLINGTON, May 9.
This year’s health stamps will be placed on sale on October 2, and unless sold out earlier will be withdrawn on January 31, the Postmaster-general, Mr Broadfoot, announced today. The stamp, the first to feature Princess Elizabeth with Prince Charles, was designed by Mr R. S. Phillips, of Rangiora, and Mr J. Berry, of Wei-
lington. Vertical in form, it is printed by the photogravure process. The denominations are again Id postage plus Jd health, and 2d postage plus Id health. The colours are bottle green and dull maroon respectively. “ I feel sure the stamps will be in great demand both for their attractiveness and the cause they support,” said the Minister. The New Zealand Federation of Health Camps is again producing a special first-day cover to be distributed by the Post Office.
