NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Otago Harbour Board proposes to adopt a new By-law to be known as By-law No. 45, 1950. repealing Sections 17, 18, 18a, 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23 of By-law No. 28, 1936, as enacted or amended by By-law No. 30, 1938. and By-law No. 43,‘1948, and re-enacting the said sections in the new By-law, subject to the following amendments:— (a) Section 18a is amended to provide for notice of the imposition of special storage charges being given by advertisement, and (b) Section 20 is amended as to the period of free storage on transhipments and overlanded cargo. AND NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that such proposed new By-law has been printed and is NOW OPEN TO PUBLIC INSPECTION at the Office of the Board, Birch street, Dunedin, during office hours, and, further, that such Bvlaw will be SUBMITTED FOR ADOPTION at a SPECIAL MEETING of the Board to be held at the Board’s Office on THURSDAY, the 18th day of MAY, 1950. at 7.35 p.m. Dated this 9th day of May, 1950. •J. PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of the intention of PETER JOSEPH WILSON and others, signatories to the petition, to present to the Peninsula County Council a petition signed by not less than a majority of the Ratepayers in the particular portion of the County affected by the petition as hereinafter described praying that the Council make such Special Order as may be necessary and make and levy upon the rateable property within that portion of the County being the specially defined lighting area in Portobello 'a separate rate (or uniform annual charge in lieu thereof) to be applied for the Special purposes of covering the cost of removal in the said portion of the County of ashes and other household refuse' and rubbish from the properties therein, provided that the annual rate or charge to be levied on each such property shall not exceed £1 for a fortnightly service for the removal of such ashes, refuse and rubbish.
