FESTIVAL CONTINUES
Green Island Competitions There was a good attendance at the annual Green Island Competitions Festival, which continued last night. The judges were Mr J. Clarke (vocal), Miss Freda Padgett (dancing), and Miss Molly Randle (elocution). The chairman was Cr L. Burgess, of the Green Island Borough Council. Results were:— Recitation.—Girls 10 and under 13 years: M. L. Jory 1, K. Ayshford 2. Y. Connor 3; J. Geddeson and P. Peterson v.h.c.; D. Glover and G. Lawrence h.c. Action Song, in Character.—Ten and under 13 years: C. Conley 1, M. Potbury 2, I. Hannah and D. Houghton (equal) 3; M. Geddes and M. L. Jory h.c. Operatic Dance.—Under 10 years: A. Holley 1, J. McSkimming 2. Tap Dance.—Ten and under 13 years: G. Moss 1. B Riddell 2, Y. Hill 3.
