POORMAN ORANGES
Consignment Arrives HIGH PRICES REALISED Apples have been reaching the city fruit markets in steady supply, the bulk of the consignments being Statesman and Jonal han varieties. A few Cleopatras have also come to hand. A small lot of Winter Nelis pears came forward at the beginning of the week. The first of the season’s Poorman oranges, which arrived at the beginning of the week, brought high prices. There has been a steady demand for choice dessert tomatoes, but others are practically unsaleable. Gros Colmar grapes and tree tomatoes met with a steady inquiry. Celery met with a readier sale man last week. There are plenty of cauliflowers available, and prices for these are on a par with recent rates. All other seasonable vegetables are in sufficient supply to meet the demand.
