CAPABLE ADMINISTRATOR
Mr Nordmeyer’s Work For Party Industrial Correspondent WELLINGTON, May 9. The defeat of Mr James Roberts, national president of the Labour Party for the last 13 years, has come as a surprise to many party supporters. It has for some years been recognised, however, that the new president, Mr Nordmeyer, would eventually take over the presidency. Mr Nordmeyer, in his capacity as vicepresident in recent years, has taken a progressively greater part in the direction of party affairs, and is held in very high regard by party members and officials as a capable administrator. Most delegates to the conference at Auckland will have voted in accordance with instructions received from their party branches or unions before leavina their home centres.
