Enthusiastic Pilgrims Mob Pope
AP —NZPA—Copyright Rec. 7 p.m. ROME, May 8. Over-enthusiastic Spanish pilgrims nearlv knocked down the Pope today at one of the biggest and certainly the liveliest of the general audiences of the Holy Year. Fifteen burly Swiss guard's linked arms to protect the Pontiff, and succeeded in pushing back the crowd just in time. The Pope finally was able to mount hi* chair and leave St. Peter’s Basilica, which was crowded with 35,000 persons for audiences.
