Daily Times And Central Otago News By an agreement just completed the Otago Daily Times and Witness Newspapers Company, Ltd., has become a shareholder in the Central Otago News Company, Ltd., of Alexandra. The Otago Daily Times will be represented on the board of directors of the Central Otago News, but there is no sacrifice of individuality of control by the latter newspaper. The purpose of this transaction is to improve the news coverage of both journals in Central Otago. The Central Otago News, which on its founding in 1948 incorporated the Alexandra Herald, the Dunstan Times and the Lake County Mail has now a wide circulation throughout the Central Otago area, and a general coverage' of local and community news. The Otago Daily Times, which has the largest circulation of any publication in Otago and Southland, is distributed throughout Central Otago. It is expected that the new association will be of mutual benefit in providing the. people of Central Otago with the fullest possible news and commercial services. Subscriptions and advertisements for the Central Otago News will be accepted at the offices of the Otago Daily Times. Advertisements for the Otago Daily Times will be accepted by the Central Otago News.
