PA WELLINGTON, May 8. Waterside workers employed in the damaged hold of the Waipiata are to receive a salvage rate of pay. This was fixed today by the Wellington Port Committee at 22s 6d an hour. Watersiders handling the cargo on the wharf will receive 15s an hour. The men are working a full 11-hour waterfront day from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., with meal breaks.
