MINER KILLED
PA NELSON, May 8. A miner, John Oliver McEwan, aged 32, married, was killed by a fall of stone at the Westhaven coal mine at Mangarakau today. McEwan was working underground when part of the roof broke away without warning, and he died before he could be removed to the surface.
